Voice Testing | Setting: Trench
In The City-- a general prompt for anyone at the beach
He didn't know what 'home' was any longer.
Tenya Iida had resided in Trench long enough for the seasons to change-- the heat and coastal humidity of summer had slowed into a brisk fall that had Tenya instinctively looking towards starting a new semester at UA, a continuation of his life, his duties, and his ongoing education to become the Hero that his brother was. Yet, in Trench, Tenya found himself in a rare situation where he could exist by his own terms... as Tenya, not the man who was to become Turbo Hero: Ingenium when he attained his licensure.
It was strange. He wasn't sure how he felt. The only matter he was certain of was that Trench needed more help than was available within the city itself.
... Oh, how his classmates at UA would hardly be surprised if they could see him now.
The little cat that had appeared by his side when he arrived, a calico he had taken to calling Tama after an old Shinto deity of the subways, was curled in the hood of his jacket while he jogged over the shoreline that brisk morning and mused over what had become of his life.
Although his world still needed 'Ingenium'... Trench needed anyone with the will and heart to be a Hero.
Needing A Hero-- A fighting prompt
The Moon Presence was the only sign of hope amid the desolation of the Beast attack that had befallen Trenchwood. Corruption ran rampant through trench, and at times it felt as if the surges rose and fell with the ebb of the tide. Having grown up on an island nation, Tenya was no stranger to the power of the tides-- and it was chilling how chaos rose and fell within that pattern. Speed may have been his gift, but not even he was fast enough to help the architects and agriculture workers from saving their fields.
Fires ate through the crops, and Tenya was taking one last lap around in search of any stragglers. Food was important-- but survival was moreso. Spotting a figure at the far end of the field, he skid to a stop, heels kicking up dust and ash, and frantically sought to get the individual's attention.
"Hey, let's keep moving! It's not worth it to stay any longer!"
He'd carry them out if he had to. No one was going to get left behind

"Who knows. Guess we're just the unlucky ones." He sighs, it really figures...
"Anyway, I can't say I've been to Musutafu, but I got an idea of where it is. I'm originally from Tokyo myself, though I haven't been back to the city for a while. I got stuck in the sticks, until I came here at least."
And where Trench was certainly more exciting than Inaba, that doesn't mean it hasn't already had its dangers and secrets. And some of it he really could have done without.
"Oh, my name's Youske Hanamura, nice to meet ya. I don't think I caught yours."

He had never before spent so much time away from his parents and siblings until that point-- but he knew it would be worthwhile when it was over.
"I likewise haven't heard of Inaba. But, Japan isn't a very large country. You probably moved somewhere near the coast, didn't you?"
Not that this was bad-- but a small coastal town would be vastly different from life in Tokyo.
"Mine's Tenya Iida. It's nice meeting you, too."

The thing he's not saying is because he loves staring at all the girls in their bikinis and swim suits...and who would want to go out to the beach in Trench when you have some seriously messed up stuff in the water? Plus with all the blood pollution? Totally gross.

"It probably won't," he agreed, with a sage nod. "However, considering that we are evidently squid? I'm not certain that the problems here will be quite the same."
They were entities that existed on their own, if the stories were to be believed. A part of them had remained at home to take care of affairs there-- while the rest of them could exist peaceably in this world. Perhaps the native squid were slightly more resistant to blood pollution than they thought?
Although, that did provide an interesting image for anyone who was more concerned with swimwear.

Yosuke looks visibly shaken, even if the tone of his voice was trying to convey annoyance. He didn't want to feel like being here was where he should be right now, he wanted to be back at home wondering if Rise would ever go out on a date with him. Or if he was going to pass the next test in his cram school courses.
"I meant that there aren't going to be any girls in their swimsuits out here. Don't just talking about the creepy shit right away!"

Tenya looked at him with the innocent bafflement of a person who was far too focused on Rules and Respect than on even lowering himself to the demeaning levels of some of his classmates.
Also, the statement was truly words spoken by someone with very little thought about Romance-- or, if any thoughts were encountered, they were quickly shoved aside.

"You gotta live life a little, have you even tried it before? It's not like we're being Peeping Toms or anything like that."

"Well, I--"
Tenya stammered, reflexively adjusting his glasses on his nose and gulping nervously. "I never actually attempted any 'flirtations' on my own. Although, there was this girl at the Sports Festival who has become quite fond of me as her guinea pig to show off her experiments. Does that mean anything to you?"

Yosuke shines with intrigue and giddiness. He's absolutely got to hear the details on this chick, she sounds wild and that's the stuff of dreams, right there. There's even a pang of jealousy that this nerd nose over here got a girl and he still can't.
"C'mon, spill the beans! You can't hold out on me here!"

"There's nothing to spill," he insisted tightly, hands cutting through the air to make his point. "We were pitted against each other in the Sports Festival, and she offered for me to use some of her inventions to 'level the field.' I accepted-- as you do when a genius inventor insists you try something and will not accept 'no' for an answer."
Tenya sighed deeply, and pushed up his glasses to pinch the bridge of his nose in an irritable display of pushing back against the unpleasant memories.
"She used me, Yosuke-kun, as a way to advertise her skills to the talent scouts. It wasn't a pleasant experience!"

"Dude, when you said experiments, I didn't think you meant actual science experiments! You shoulda just said so to begin with!" He stares at Tenya for a moment, before his eyes widen when it finally hits him that something is not right with this entire situation.
"Hold up, what do you mean experiments?! What kind of school do you go to anyway? That kinda stuff isn't allowed in a sports festival!"

Tenya explained with a frustrated huff, as if these facts alone were self evident. It was only after Yosuke asked after his school that the reality started to dawn.
"...That's right, our Japans are probably fairly different." He trailed, taking off his glasses to peer at Yosuke with growing interest.
"I'm the Classroom Representative for Class 1-A at U. A. High School. It's the top Hero Academy in Japan. But..."
He paused for a moment for dramatic effect.
"If your sports festival is nothing like that, then I'm going to guess that Hero Academies are not common where you're from."

But if there isn't a little part of him that has already had big ideas of what a Hero Academy is, he'd be lying to himself. That sounds really cool, if it's anything that he's imagined in the span of five seconds.
"I kinda had you pegged for being a class rep. I'm not really surprised it's at a top school either...but woah, a Hero Academy sounds badass. Sounds like something straight out of a comic book! Are Quirks your superpowers or something?"

Tenya, always glad to help enlighten those who wished to understand something a little better, beamed at the line of questioning.
"To be honest, more people than not have 'superpowers' at this point. But, not everyone has what it takes to be a Hero. That's why there's specialized education and a number of regulations surrounding when and how a person's quirks are used."
